Another Year, Another Party

In keeping with tradition, we held the annual combined birthday party at the lagoon yesterday. I think I only pulled two muscles unloading and re-loading all the gear, but a great time was had regardless. I didn't get great pictures this year (too busy enjoying the party), but I thought these were funny candid shots of the cake eating:

"Hmm, no need to wait for my little brother to blow out the candles."
"We can't have the frosting stuck to the candle go to waste (since there's a real shortage of shortening-based frosting on those Costco cakes and all . . .)"

"Maybe this candle is made entirely of frosting too, better bite into it to make sure"
"I wish my mouth would open a little wider. I just can't fit enough cake in at once."
"If you get frosting on your bare cheek, just wipe it off on your bare shoulder. No one will see the bright green dye."

So sorry we missed it--looks like a great party. I hope your boys had fun! And I hope you get/got a nap today.

Fun stuff! You're such a good mom to throw such fun parties each year. Maybe someday I'll be able to attend one. I love the cake eating play by play. You know Luke was just saving some frosting for later! By the way... that shirt I got is at Gap right now and comes in awesome patterns and colors. I bought two because I couldn't pick and had to have Chris do it for me!

This was so fun! I have come to love the traditional food at the annual Bollard Birthday Bash - fruit and yummy fruit dip, grandma's sugar cookies, guacamole! Mmmm... And your mom's mint brownies were awesome!!! D-lish!
