The day of reckoning finally arrived last week. The endless milk fest has ended. My addicted boys are finally weaned from their bottles! While this may sound insignificant to some, this was a MAJOR change in our household. Ethan loved his "baba" so much that once he even kissed the basket they were stored in! So, we were expecting the worse when we went cold turkey last week. Luckily, I was armed with my secret weapon: Grandma. My mother came to stay for the first five days and she was able to distract the boys enough, and help with some rough bedtime moments, that I kept my sanity during the first few days. Poor Lukey didn't really understand what was going on, but Ethan was angry and he was going to let me know it. One day, after putting him down for a nap without the bottle, he took his clothes and diaper off, peed all over his room, then climbed in Luke's crib to finally fall asleep naked (meaning that I got to wash both his and Luke's sheets!). But, the worst is over and now I can happily report that we are a sippy cup family. On to potty training . . . joy!
